I actually did all the practices last night! well done me!
Nothing to report yet (obviously!!) but like the Old Man said, ‘The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step’ (Lao Tzu?)

The plan
30 12 2005Yeah like I’ll actually keep to this! But here we go:
- 7pm: The 5 Tibetans (this is so energising you just can’t do it before sleep)
- 9pm: The 100 days excercises
- 10.30pm: Glenn Morris CD – at least the secret smile and the Chakras sections
Now, this is going to be a challange to stick to as I go to the gym and train in my chosen Martial Art during the week nights as well. I have no idea how I’m gonna do it but hey, that’s no reason to abandon the whole bloody thing!
You’ll notice that there’s no morning sessions. ‘Practice in the morning’ – yeah? Whatever! I’m way to tired in the mornings to give a toss about anything, let alone doing anything energetic! maybe that’ll change? who knows..

You
30 12 2005If you’re at all interested in what I’m doing then just f’in do it! reading about me practicing, or just reading books won’t get you that source of chi that you want! The map is not the terrotry! Learning without doing is worthless! I know, I’ve been doing it for years, it’s so much easier! Excuses are so easy to think up
Get your finger out and get busy!

The Five Tibetans
30 12 2005I’m also going to try to do these bad boys. This is the most energising yoga / chi kung routine I’ve ever practiced so doing these can only help (?). I’ll log progress with these on the TracksLife page as well.
More info on The Five Tibetans
One little note, Glenn Morris suggests doing a different breathing pattern than Peter Kelder does in two of the ‘Tibetans’. Must ask about that.

Glenn Morris
30 12 2005As well as the 100 days practice, I’m going to try and do as much of the Secret smile and Workshop CD ala GM Glenn Morris as I can. I’ll try and record any weird things that happen during that here as well. See a review (when I get around to it in the books section on this site) of his books for more info.

The First Week
30 12 2005So, this week is week one of the 100 days, or 14 weeks of the training programme.
This week I’m going to be mostly practicing:
regulating the breath: Basic deep breathing
The Lung healing sound
Some facial rejuvenation massage
The 8 section brocade pieces 1 and 2
Sitting and stilling the mind part 1
You can see that week one is pretty basic. I’ve decided not to skip ahead and instead take 7 days to do this week even though it’s stuff I’m familiar with. Maybe it’ll get me into the habit? hopefully, from experiance I know that if somthings a habit you never get that, ‘nah, can’t be arsed tongiht’ feeling cause you just assume you’re going to do it. That’s what I’m aming for.. Fingers crossed.
I’m not sure if I’m going to post in this blog daily or weekly or whatever. I will be recording wether or not I actually have practiced on the TracksLife site so if you’re curious go there and have a look. Please feel free to give me an email bollocking if you see that I’ve missed any days! I’m anticipating that practicing at the weekend’s going to be a bit impossiable (hey I’ve got a life, I like going out and getting drunk at the weekends – I work hard during the week y’know!) so cut me some slack there. Not practicing Sunday to Thursday will not be acceptable though!
If you want to cut to the chase you could just come back in 100 days time (I have no idea when the date is) and see if I actually managed to complete this bad boy! Maybe it’ll be longer than 100 days, if I miss out days I’ll probable make up the time.. maybe..

About this Nonsense
29 12 2005I’ve put this blog together to serve as a kick up the arse for my Meditation / Qi Gong practice. Finally I’m going to get my finger out and start practising properly.
The long and short of it is that I’ve had the book 100 Days to Better Health, Good Sex and Long Life for 6 years and I’ve never got further than 20 days into it! This time I’m definitely going to do it all, and hey, if that goes well maybe complete the second book too!
I’m not a hippie meditator! I’ve been doing martial arts for 21 years (time just carries on passing by! Just gotta carry showing up and training…); trained with KGB, GSG9, Police, Doormen and Bodyguards among others (I still manage not to be very good at it though!). If I have to say I follow any kind of ’school’ it would have to be Mantak Chia’s as taught by Kris Deva North and Eric Yudelove, and also Glenn Morris’s Lightening Path way.
Anyway, that’s more than enough about me, it’s the practice that matters and Hopefully there’ll be lots of posts about that!
Mark
